Thank you for attending Spring Forum 2019!

We had an incredible turn out for this year’s Spring Forum in Indianapolis. Including our publishing partners, authors and booksellers we had over 80 attendees! Thank you to the GLIBA board and the ABA for leading education focused on Abacus and Pre-Orders. ABA’s presentation can be found here. As well, a huge thank you to our participating authors Jennifer Weiner, Melanie Benjamin, Andrew Shaffer, Kalisha Buckhanon, S.L. Huang, Emmy Kastner, Iliana Regan, Terry Border and Annie Sullivan. This year’s author presentations were amazing, diverse and entertained from start to finish. Thank you to Elysia Smith and Irvington Vinly & Books for hosting the after party. Most importantly thank you to all the booksellers that attended. The opportunity to meet and talk to each other is one of the most vital things we can do to move our industry forward. Thank you!

ABA Education
This Spring ABA will present an update on two initiatives critical to the success of any independent bookstore -- an active pre-orders campaign and participation in the annual ABACUS financial survey.

This new educational session will focus on best practices for increasing pre-orders -- including the latest on accurately reporting and tracking -- based on in-store experiences and feedback from the Pre-Order Booksellers Task Force.

The session will also provide an overview of ABACUS data, including data specific to each region, earlier ABACUS delivery schedule, and ways submitting stores can successfully use their ABACUS reports to make sound financial decisions.

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
