GLIBA's New York City Trip

Each year a few GLIBA member stores have the opportunity to spend a few days in New York, meeting with publishers, and showing off their stores.  The trip is designed for stores to increase their visibility to publishers, increase their level of sophistication as to how the industry works, and establish contacts to get on the radar of publicity departments.  To be considered, applicants must answer a lengthy questionnaire, and submit it by a date chosen in December.  Keep in mind, that less is not more in this case.  We want as much information as you can give us to make our decisions.  The submission will then be reviewed by the GLIBA Board committee, and finalists will be chosen one week after the deadline. Preparation will begin in early January. The dates for the trip are chosen with input from the designated stores and the publishers.  This program is not designed for stores that are just beginning to host authors or participate on social media.  You will need to have experience with national and local authors, a variety of venues available for author events, and a fairly substantial presence on social media to be selected to make the trip.

Below you will find the Questionnaire and an Information Checklist.  If you have more questions, please do not hesitate to call the GLIBA office at (630) 841-8129 or email me at larry@gliba.org.
