Thank You for Making the Lit Show a Great Night!
On Friday August 3rd the GLIBA and ArtBar hosted an evening of authors, booksellers, publishers, artists and literary themed art at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, IL. Thank you so much to everyone that attended. We kicked off the evening with author readings while a literary themed art show exhibited throughout the night. A huge thank you to Melanie Benjamin, Peter Coviello, Jessica Hopper, Siobhan Thompson and Sung Yim. As well, thank you to University of Texas Press, Penguin Random House, Delacorte Press, Featherproof Books, Perfect Day Publishing and Ghost City Press. It was a wonderful night and we will have more events like this soon!

Peter Coviello
Peter Coviello has written about Walt Whitman, Mormon polygamy, Steely Dan, the history of sexuality, queer children, American literature, stepparenthood, and Prince. This work has appeared in The Believer, Frieze, Avidly, Raritan, and the Los Angeles Review of Books, as well as in several books including Tomorrow's Parties: Sex and the Untimely in Nineteenth Century America, a finalist for Lambda Literary Award in Gay and Lesbian Studies, and his most recent, LONG PLAYERS. In 2017-18, he was a fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. He lives in Chicago. |

Jessica Hopper
Jessica Hopper is a music critic and the author of The First Collection of Criticism By A Living Female Rock Critic and the forthcoming music memoir Night Moves (UT Press, September 2018). She was formerly the Editorial Director at MTV News, and an editor at Pitchfork and Rookie. Her essays have appeared in Best Music Writing for 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010, and 2011. Her book The Girls' Guide to Rocking was named one of 2009's Notable Books For Young Readers by the American Library Association. |
Siobhan Thompson
