Great Lakes Great Reads
The Great Lakes Great Reads program is an annual program to recognize excellence in writing for books about or written by authors with ties to the Great Lakes region. The awards given annually are for Adult and Children's Books.
Eligible titles must be:
- Frontlist titles
- Either written by an author with ties to the states in the region (IL, IN, KY, MI, OH) or set in those states
Self-published books may be submitted ONLY if they are carried at a major distributor (Baker & Taylor or Ingram, ).
A committee will review these nominations and produce a shortlist of titles.
2017 Short List
2017 Winners will be announced on July 24th. Awards will be presented at the Heartland Fall Forum at the Awards Dinner at the Westin Lombard on October 11th.
