The Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association, along with MBA, produces The Heartland Bestseller List, a weekly list of bestsellers based on reports of independent bookstores in the Heartland. The list appears on Wednesdays for the week ending the preceding Sunday.

GLiBA publishes the Chicagoland Indie Bestseller List the same day, based on reports of independent bookstores in the Chicago area.

The American Booksellers Association produces the IndieBound Bestseller List on Tuesdays for the week ending the previous Sunday.

We encourage every bookstore member - big, small, general, specialized - to report to the list. It's easy and quick, once you've done the initial set-up. Reporting via BookScan is the recommended method, but there are other options. Our "Note About Reporting" lists the options and has more details.

We urge you to encourage your local newspaper to run the Heartland Independent Bestseller List (our regional version) or the Indie Bestseller List (the national version). For more information on the lists and how newspapers can reprint them (it's very simple!), click here.
